Green Funeral Services

This is the all-natural alternative to traditional funeral services. This process eliminates the use of toxic embalming chemicals within the body for preservation. The use of non-toxic fluids and biodegradable materials will allow the body to go back naturally to the earth.

The idea of being "green" in a funeral service is actually an age-old concept, practiced by those who took care of the dead before the advent of separate funeral home facilities. Today, more people are environmentally consciousness and eco-friendly in every aspect of their lives and prefer to leave the earth that way as well.  A green funeral may include some or all of the following basic options: no Formaldehyde-based embalming; using a biodegradable casket, clothing or shroud; using recycled paper products. Having a ceremony in a natural setting or natural Burial ensures that your body will return to the elements as naturally as possible.

The un-embalmed body is buried in a natural setting without the use of a vault; any marking of the grave is done with natural materials instead of standing, traditional headstone. Dillon Service is honored to be Tulsa County’s premier funeral service and cemetery combination provider and to be certified by the Green Burial Council as Green Burial Provider.

We offer green funeral packages that will provide everything necessary from Home wakes, public visitations, church or chapel funerals and other ceremonies are options that may be arranged within the time frame green burial allows. Natural burials can be done at a green cemetery, a conventional cemetery and, in certain instances, on private property.
